and many would advise very strongly against analog, or audiocassette,
recorders. While the audiocassette was the hottest thing a few decades
ago, cassettes are really not very good technology compared to the digital recorder. Here are a few reasons you should get digital, not an analog, phone recorders.
Cassettes may become obsolete. They may not, of course. But audiocassettes are becoming harder to find, and the price of cassettes is higher, in some stores, than it was a few years ago. As long as businesses use cassette recorders, office supply stores will continue to stock both standard and microcassettes, but keep in mind that you may have more trouble finding the cassettes you need than you did only a short time ago. If you're buying a recorder you hope to use for seven, eight or more years, you will probably be happier with digital. There is no guarantee on any type of data storage, of course, but it is very likely that you can access files from a digital recorder long into the future.

And if you record over the tape several times, it starts to get worn out.
